It’s been a while I must admit. We’ve made it through the long cold winter, did I say long! Finally a break in the snow, ice, and rain. It was great to get outside. It seems my little man has grown in leaps and bounds over the winter. I still look at you, as a little baby, now 13 years later in wonder and awe. I really can’t believe it 13, wow! Your voice is changing and I still can’t get used to it. I take in everything, the little syllables you spoke, the way you move, run… I want to remember it all and never forget. The years will whizz by before you know it and you’ll grow up, move out and be out there in the world on your own. But for now I’ll cherish every moment we have as you grow. You’re too big to hold or pick up again and that has made me sad. But I look forward to the next phase of your life, as a teenager, as each only seems to get better and better. You’re in 7th grade this year, and I am soo excited for you. Your world will open up, friends will flock by your side I am sure. But for now, we will enjoy each day, catching bugs, digging holes, playing in the sand and the mud, riding bikes, hitting the beach… we’ll have many, many new adventures. Let’s go! Happy Birthday my little man.
